Top Gift Picks

Whether you’re celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, another holiday or just feel like buying gifts for a friend, family member OR yourself, here’s a round-up of some of the things I’m loving this season. Enjoy my top gift picks! :)

BRANDS TO WATCH

Tavik: The company uses modern beach culture to define its brand. From very soft fitted cotton pants to the red villard jacket seen below, the pieces ooze casual cool. (styled with an ISAORA sweatshirt)

Brooks Heritage X UBIQ:  The Philadelphia store partnered with performance brand Brooks Running Company for a limited edition shoe (seen below). It launches this Saturday (Dec. 13th) at UBIQ in Philly and on the store’s website — my guess is this will fly run off the stock shelves. I love the multicolored sole.

LONG-LASTING UNDERGARMENTS

Mack Weldon Silver Underwear/Undershirts: Designed with NASA in mind, Mack Weldon’s new Silver collection holds up to the test. What test? Seeing if the silver prohibits smell and keeps you fresh for six days. Yes, I did wear the same pair of underwear six days in a row. No I didn’t do much physical activity while taking the Silver 6-Day Same Underwear Test. And yes, I’d do it again because they didn’t even stink after those 6 long days. Either this product works OR I smell like angels. Or both! Check it out for yourself here.

THE ACCESSORIES

Fun cuff links: Whether a top hat pair from Robert Graham (seen below) or chess pieces (seen in my Ties.com feature) – cuff links don’t have to be simple. In fact – I think they should be little shirt accessories full of personality! I’ll be sharing many more cuff link styles in 2015, but remember that 18k gold pair from 1884 Collection? Swoon…

Colored Sunglasses: Opt for a bold pair like the Gotti Switzerland frames below or go more subtle and try colored Ray-Ban club masters or traditional aviators in white or electric blue. Not into colored frames? Try tinted and mirrored lenses. All are sartorial options!

TOP PICK: PF Flyers X Todd Snyder kicks

Who has dreamed of owning blue suede shoes? Yep, probably everyone. I know I have! Thanks to PF Flyers these sweet kicks are keeping my feet stylish and comfortable. Wear them with fitted sweats (seen below) for a casual look or dress them up with a fitted navy suit. Either way.. win, win, win! I’m just curious if there part II in store for next year… let’s all cross our fingers for PF Flyers x Todd Snyder Part II! (style available in brown and black leather on PFflyers.com)

Gotta Go!

We’ve all been there – you’re running late to an appointment/to work/to see a friend. The worst is when you’re halfway from home and suddenly realize you forgot something or at least think you forgot something. DRATS. In honor of sprinting around the Big Apple this second installment in my collaboration with Ministry of Supply (see the first here) showcases the ease of the brands performance dress shirts.

Here I am – all decked out in this sick Mackage coat, the MoS Archive dress shirt and Timberland shoes. Comfortable and ready to jet in town for a meeting and then to grab drinks with a friend. A casual weekend look I accessorized with this Skagen Denmark leather backpack, “vintage” DKNY sunglasses and a green CT Scuderia watch. I like the casual, cool feel of this look!

I peak the time and realize I GOTTA GO! Jet to the metro, realize I may have forgotten my keys, peak inside my backpack (THANKFULLY my keys are there) and then proceed to hop on the train. Annnnnnd I’m off. Thankfully the train wasn’t crowded, but I’ll have to get used to more and more people in small spaces since I’m headed to Beijing soon. There are 21 million, yes, MILLION, people there so I expect more crowded subways and less buffer time during these I GOTTA GO moments.

My favorite gifts post goes live next week. Don’t want to miss my sartorial selects? Sign up for the IMC newsletter below!

Necessity | Ministry of Supply

Every guy needs a small, yet well-rounded collection of dress shirts. Whether it’s a crisp white french cuff, a solid black tuxedo or a wide blue stripe, a man needs options. I recently linked up with Ministry of Supply to share this fantastic Archive Dress Shirt. When wearing this shirt I think of two words: ventilation and stretch. One of the key features about this performance dress shirt is the barely0visible, laser drilled perforations at the underarms. When you hold the shirt up close you can see tiny perforations that let your body breath. Are you a guy who runs around a lot, but still needs to look business professional? Well then this shirt is the perfect fit for you!

Testing how flexible the shirt is while rolling up the sleeves.

I love how crisp the shirt looks and feels. You know when you put on a well-made suit and can feel your posture improve? That’s how I feel in this shirt. To stay with the crisp look I styled it with a sharp green CT Scuderia watch and dark denim. Take a look at Ministry of Supply’s full collection, then part 2 next week aka what jacket and other accessories I added to this look!
