Your Move.

Obviously I’m talking about your move to decide what your newest dress shirt will look like! Thanks to Marcella Custom — I made all the moves. From selecting the fabric to choosing French cuffs to the buttons and even the collar shape, this shirt is all ME. I mentioned the company back in my holiday gift guide and am sharing the full editorial now. To go along with my “Your Move” when you go custom theme, I paired this look with chess piece cufflinks and some new boots. How would you design your new dress shirt?

Gotta Go!

We’ve all been there – you’re running late to an appointment/to work/to see a friend. The worst is when you’re halfway from home and suddenly realize you forgot something or at least think you forgot something. DRATS. In honor of sprinting around the Big Apple this second installment in my collaboration with Ministry of Supply (see the first here) showcases the ease of the brands performance dress shirts.

Here I am – all decked out in this sick Mackage coat, the MoS Archive dress shirt and Timberland shoes. Comfortable and ready to jet in town for a meeting and then to grab drinks with a friend. A casual weekend look I accessorized with this Skagen Denmark leather backpack, “vintage” DKNY sunglasses and a green CT Scuderia watch. I like the casual, cool feel of this look!

I peak the time and realize I GOTTA GO! Jet to the metro, realize I may have forgotten my keys, peak inside my backpack (THANKFULLY my keys are there) and then proceed to hop on the train. Annnnnnd I’m off. Thankfully the train wasn’t crowded, but I’ll have to get used to more and more people in small spaces since I’m headed to Beijing soon. There are 21 million, yes, MILLION, people there so I expect more crowded subways and less buffer time during these I GOTTA GO moments.

My favorite gifts post goes live next week. Don’t want to miss my sartorial selects? Sign up for the IMC newsletter below!

Falling off the Ledge

It seemed appropriate to break out these new shorts (um, I mean trunks) since fall is officially here! Just how that whole no white after labor day chatter is wacko… so is no shorts for fall. The buffalo on these Katin trunks are too cool not to deem fall appropriate.  I paired the look with a black tee – also from Katin – one of my favorite pairs of Sperrys. MUSTARD HUE. Some 360 swivel sunnies and a CT Scuderia red watch. What do you think? Ready for fall or falling off the rocker? Or maybe falling off that ledge? :P

Mondrian Soho Rooftop

NYFW can be exhausting. It’s Sunday and I’m responding to emails, working on show reports from the past few days and getting ready to head out for more shows/presentations. I wore this look to an event at the Mondrian Soho rooftop. Since I’m heading out I’ll make the description short. I wore a Marc by Marc Jacobs “vintage” shirt, navy pants, textured ALDO sunnies, an amazing CT Scuderia watch, LAGOS bracelet, Ace & Everett socks (I ran into co-owner Sage at the Grungy Gentleman presentation later), J.D. Fisk black leather shoes, and my red croc embossed briefcase. What do you think? I kept this look simple in color palette and played with mixing prints and adding focus with a statement watch and bag.

The Race

Then there was summer… Now that the unofficial end of summer has past (hope you had a great Labor Day), it’s time to upgrade fall wardrobes. I recently got this new French cuff shirt from Twillory. It’s a nice staple piece I plan to style in a bunch of different ways. The CT Scuderia watch is inspired by Italian Cafe Racing so I thought it fitting to add a pair of horse race cufflinks from Craiger Drake. Although it’s not “chilly” out yet, I paired this look with a Daniel Won leather cardigan because sometimes it is cold in restaurants… hello. Mix in a pair of Alberto pants, snakeskin embossed shoes and Ace & Everett socks and the look is complete. Oh! And the red temple sunglasses pull out the red in the watch and cufflinks. Now the question is do I wear this look to the race track, the office or an event? I say all of them. I do know that it’s a race from now until the new year. Event on event on event.. ahh.
