Jack Spade Fall 2014

Jack Spade held their first fashion week presentation at The New York Public Library. Lapel pins and leather bags were plentiful — the accessories complimented a neutral color palette. Navy, charcoal, black, olive and tan hues with a touch of red (oh, wait, red is a neutral, too. right?).

Guests gathered in The Edna Barnes Salomon Room. Do you think there’s a relation to The Barnes Foundation in Philly? Either way it’s a gorgeous space and excellent venue choice for the first Jack Spade presentation.

Side comment: I spotted my next hair style on one of the models — will share which style when my hair is cut!

Now for Then

Although temperatures have been below freezing lately… it’s time to start thinking about spring! Spring clothing that is. Jack Spade is celebrating a partnership with pro surfer turned filmmaker Mikey DeTemple for this season’s ad/video campaign. This video “Now for Then” details a new beginning. A new beginning where JACK SPADE heads east just as the weather begins to turn. East to small towns where writers and artists find peace. Places to reinvent yourself.

Where do you go to reinvent yourself?

Clown face.

It’s no secret that I love Alexander McQueen. From skull key chains to ornate couture gowns, McQueen delivers time and time again. I was catching up on industry news and saw the latest ad campaign shot by Steven Klein. One photo stands out more than the others… a guy with a clown painted face. After looking past the model’s exaggerated makeup, I’m quite fond of his hair and the simple, black bomber jacket he is wearing. Stuffed animals in the background are interesting and thought provoking. What do you think those animals mean?

Going Hood.

Today Hood By Air launched a new website (actually their first website). The layout is simple to navigate with a few shirts displayed. I’m loving the black backpack styled with a few of the looks (shown below). Chic for the gym or with a suit during your daily commute. See more looks on the Hood By Air website.
