One of the rewarding moments with working in fashion and lifestyle content is receiving opportunities that give back to the world. I was honored to celebrate #MAKEAPROMISE with Louis Vuitton in celebration of the brand’s partnership with UNICEF. $200 of each silver lockit sold goes directly to providing for the world’s most vulnerable children. These images were shot in January as I celebrated the 1 year anniversary of the partnership at Louis Vuitton King of Prussia. It’s a #pinkypromise to help children in urgent need.
Philadelphia’s best white-tie gala of the year is happening again on January 28. I was so disappointed when it was canceled last year because of Winter Storm Jonas especially because the concert was to feature the Emmy and Tony Award-winning actor Martin Short. So you can imagine how excited I am that he’ll be performing this year!
The theme of this year’s event is Philadelphia’s Golden Heritage, and it’s the Academy of Music’s 160th Anniversary. I so enjoy this evening of great performances, food and drink with amazing company. How fun that after the performance at the Academy, gala-goers will promenade down the Avenue of the Arts to an elegant dinner and Ball at Hyatt at the Bellevue? Ahh, such glamour!
As a member of the Young Friends committee for the the event, I’m grateful I had the opportunity to work with the other three people you see pictured here, who are also members of the committee, Stacey, Matrin, and Alison. I’m excited I can finally share with you these images we captured during a photoshoot inside the absolutely stunning Academy of Music. For the shoot, the ladies wore dresses from Bedazzled Boutique in Newtown Square and jewelry from REALM, and I wore tails provided by Henry A. Davidsen. For the Ball, Martin will wear his own custom tails.
If you’ve never had the fortune of walking through its halls and ballrooms, please make it a priority to get yourself there! I promise you’ll be blown away… But then, with these photos, you don’t really have to take my word for it, do you?

There are a few DANGEROUS things about living in the Northeast: potential icy roads, flat tires, and car stalls while traveling in the winter months. The last thing I want to have to worry about while venturing to visit family is the increased chance of being stranded in the cold. GAH! That’s why I always pack a heavy jacket and accessories to stay warm in case of emergency. Thankfully I’ve relieved my wintery travel worries now knowing about a protection program, the Pennsylvania DOT State Farm Safety Patrol.
I’ve teamed up with State Farm to share some safety tips to make sure the holiday travel season stays joyful! A quick vehicle checkup is the best precaution before starting your travels. Remember to:
- Check the air pressure in all tires (especially the spare!)
- Make sure the wiper blades work
- Check the battery life and that cables are properly connected
- Inspect brake pads
- Change the oil and filter
- Test the headlights, brake lights, turn signals, emergency flashers, and interior lights
To go along with those State Farm’ quick vehicle safety tips, I’m listing my travel must-haves for going home during the holidays.
- Salted peanuts or some non-perishable snacks
- Fingerless driving gloves
- A kickass playlist (often curated by DJ friends or musicians)
- Purified water
- Coffee or a latte
- A blanket in case I get stranded and need to wait for the Assist Patrol
- One or more pairs of sunglasses
Where are you going this holiday season? The Assist Patrol program runs in 15 states with 20 sponsored patrols. Be sure to see if it operates near you and stay safe! You can learn more about the program here.

And I’m off! Hello to the holiday season, hello to spending time with family, and HELLO to fantastic gifts. Tis the season for shopping and I’m very excited to partner with TM1985 in Brooklyn for a Black (Leather) Friday event. Over the past month I’ve been carrying the brand’s Allen bag around for photo shoots and business travels. It’s immaculately crafted. As you can see in the image below. Well, helllllo gorgeous. It’s one of those bags that you gift (becuase you’re the best gift giver) and then realize…. wait, I need a second one for myself!
THANKFULLY (get the pun… tomorrow is Thanksgiving… ha) – TM1985 is offering a buy one get one on the Allen bag for guests during our holiday styling party. Details are below! I will be on site at the store sharing my favorite gifts and probably taking more photos with my Allen bag. ;D

This post is in partnership with Donald J Pliner. All views and opinions are my own.
When I was in high school I used to go shopping with my grandma, who I now call Glamie, all the time. She considered me her stylist which I held at a high honor. Previously she wore a lot of black and I would say, “grandma how about color?!” Over time she more color diverse sartorial choices and now hardly ever wears black. I remember finding a pair of purple suede loafers one day shopping with Glamie and we both instantly knew she had to have them. Donald J Pliner designed the shoes and I was an instant fan. Glamie had already bought his shoes before, but I was a new customer. When I got home I searched for his website and discovered beaded dress shoes and buckled loafers – I was hooked.
Throughout high school I bought a pair here and there. My mother surprised me with presents when I received honor roll certificates and other academic awards. One time she got me a pair of zebra printed loafers with a croc embossed trim and silver buckle. I wore them to a National Art Honor Society ceremony. WOW, were they a hit!
Over the years I’ve collected a handful of DJP shoes that represent special moments in my life and tell a story of their own. I keep all of the shoes neatly packed in dust bags, boxed and stored in my shoe closet.
This season I’ve teamed up with Donald J Pliner to share some of the new fall 2017 styles while sharing a new moment in my life. I wore the Sansone boots in black brushed suede for a weekend in New York with my friend David. He recently started a new site website called Very Good Light that shines light on men’s beauty. For his website David asked me to appear in the launch video with a handful of empowered men – I was honored to be involved! I wore the boots to the shoot and around that weekend and let me say, they are VERY comfortable. The boots are now a reminder of a special day that I spent with friends as we celebrated a new accomplishment. I can’t wait to buy them in sand brushed suede next.
Just like in high school when my DJP shoes complemented special days, my fall 2017 styles continue to stand with me for those precious memories.
